Buying a home is one of the most exciting and fulfilling things a person can do, but can also lead to a lot of stress.

Most people only make a move 2 or 3 times in their lives and they aren’t always prepared. For a Realtor such as myself it’s day-to-day business but not for the buyers and sellers.

Financial expenditures like this may bring out heavy emotions, as naturally, this is a very personal experience. Once you put your emotions into a large purchase like this, chances are, things can be out of control.

The good news is that there are simple ways you can do to handle the stress of home buying. Where does the stress of home buying actually begin?

Actually, it starts with the purchase offer, particularly for first time homebuyers who most often have a hard time understanding the concepts included in the agreement. It’s great to have me explain everything to you to eliminate this stress right off the bat!

Another source of stress from the home buying process is the period of waiting whether the offer you make for the property will be accepted or rejected by the seller. A few days may pass before the seller informs you regarding the decision and during this time, your mind might become anxious anticipating the result. Instead, you can focus on a new book you want to read, watch movies or play computer games. Be prepared and ok with whatever choice the seller makes. There could be another home, even better suited for you right around the corner. Things happen for a reason. I will keep on top of it for you.

Another situation where you can feel the stress of home buying is during the period of waiting for the deal to close. There are times that the lender will ask for more documents needed for the process, giving you additional stress when digging for the important papers they need. There isn’t too much we can do about this other than to be prepared from the start and understand that this is major life purchase and there will be many questions, forms, statements and such to provide due to the complexities. Patience will help calm things down for you in a big way.
