Today, I was at a networking luncheon held at a public golf course. There were about 40 business professionals in attendance, and the featured speaker was really interesting. I met some new people and ran into a lot of familiar faces. I certainly didn't go there expecting to get any business, but I knew I would have only two minutes to promote Team Zuhl, so I had to make it count!
After the event ended, I was making my way to the restroom. The bartender (who was in the back of the room the entire time) said to me, "I really liked what you said. I live here in town and after my son graduates, we want to sell our house. Please give me your card, I want to list with you!" So, I reached into my pocket, having passed around the stack of cards I brought in with me, and handed him the last card I had on me.
You never know what you'll get at a networking event. But yes, bartender, I will take another listing!
