Crystal Cove Cottages

Crystal Cove is a state park along the SoCal coast just north of Laguna Beach, and includes the historic Crystal Cove cottage colony.

Apart from being a charming look back in the past and a fine place to vist (the Beachcomber Restaurant right on the beach is terrific!), these cottages can be rented during the year.

High demand from regulars might make particular favorites more difficult to rent and reservations fill up quickly. But I understand there can be some saem day openings at certain times of the year.

This seaside colony of cottages was built in the 1930s and 1940s and offer a range of accommodations - some are dorm style. The beach is wonderful, as are the views from the cottages. It's well worth a day trip if you are in the area.

I think you would love it!! The more I think about it the more I would like to myself. Just have never done so, and it's only a little over an hour away. The challenge is finding the time that works for the rental availability

Indeed it would be. There is something very special about this place, although I suspect at peak season it can get a bit crowded. But there is plenty of beach to enjoy!

It could be a fun place to gather since it's closer to LA so we could pull in people from San Diego, Orange County, and LA. As far as the pie...that could be a repeat.. BUT they have the most amazing Beignets with dark chocolate sauce. Killer!!

It's a wonderful place to visit AND you do feel relaxed immediately. The path from parking leads down a hill and under the 4 loan road - once you get there you know it is someplace special!

Agreed. There is something very charming about this place, and it's nice to see that other than the restaurant it has not been commercialized. Thank goodness these have been preserved.
