Morning Analysis

Sometimes I think it's easy to get caught up in the long term plans and goals, that we miss the daily steps which get us there. I just poured my second cup of coffee and realized that the last hour has been spent just puttering around the house.

That's fine....little things which needed doing were done.

The thing is, I could easily keep puttering for quite some time. Each small task leads to another and then my morning is gone. Mornings tend to me the most productive time of my day, so I should make better use of them.

What could I do in the hour I just "lost"?

  • The AVID (Agent visual disclosure) my assistant has been bugging me about
  • Uploading new photos from my photographer
  • A better blog post :/
  • Some follow-up emails

Little steps, small tasks...which add up in the day. Morning is the easiest time to just pound these kinds of things out.

Each small moment can be used correctly, or lost. That's how we get to the big goals.

Hi Karen Fiddler, Broker/Owner That is what the old Chimese saying says: A journey of a 1000 miles begins with one step.

And just keep making those steps. you will get there.

Morning is also my best time of day Karen Fiddler, Broker/Owner . I love getting to the office at 7AM, an hour ahead of everyone else and start working.

I tend to get a lot more done in the early morning ... and then again another surge at the end of the day ... before I plan to shut it all down and call it a day.

Sometimes we just need to putter around ...  regardless of the list of to-do's which will still be there when we are done puttering.  Be kind to Karen Fiddler, Broker/Owner

Hi Karen... I'm a morning person and always up early. And I've long been in the habit to allow 30 minutes each morning to putter around, as you put it, with household things that need doing and can get forgotten about once the day's insanity begins. I actually find this to be a big stress-reliever.

Karen, just the opposite for me...I have a tendency to land in front of the computer first thing and waste a perfectly beautiful morning INSIDE! So, this AM, after cleaning the stalls for Della and Pearl, my mule and horse, I grabbed my camera, a cup of coffee and walked around our acreage taking photos of the stunningly spectacular sunny morn!

And I don't feel the least bit guilty. So there you are...a different perspective to make you feel a little better that you "putter".

Karen it is very easy to let time slip by use.  We need to set a number of things to complete during the day and then not let other things get in the way of doing them.

Time does get sucked away so easy!  We should make the most of it while we can.
