Are you positive you understand what a negative easement is?

I have really enjoyed Facebook reminding me each day of my posts from that day on previous years.  

This week I had a reminder of a little fun I had a couple of years ago after reviewing a title commitment.  This particular title commitment listed a negative easement as part of the exceptions to the title policy.  

I wondered how many people would actually have any understanding of what a negative easement is.  I posed this question to my Facebook friends: 

 

"I was reviewing a title commitment
and noticed there amongst the typical list
of easements were a couple of
"negative" easements.
Do you know the difference between
an easement and a negative easement?
Without looking it up?"

I have one on my commercial lot that restricts which road on the corner I can put signage and driveway (the other street leads into a residential neighborhood)
