Wild West Fest in Carlsbad California
The popular Annual Carlsbad Wild West Fest will take place on Saturday May 21st at Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park in the Rancho Carrillo area of Carlsbad off Palomar Airport Road.
The Carlsbad Wild West Fest is a free event, taking place from 11am until 2 pm,
This event offers plenty of fun and Western-themed activities for all ages, including a salsa contest, pony and mechanical bull riding, crafts, face painting and root beer tasting.
You can purchase Activity cards for $6 at the event to take part in the root beer tasting , photos with cowboys in authentic dress (who will demo some genuine cowboy stuff!), and rides on the mechanical bull or the quieter ponies, depending on what the kids are up for. Shop at the Trading Post or take part in the salsa tasting for $3.
The Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park is a former working ranch that was owned and developed by actor, preservationist and philanthropist Leo Carrillo (he played Pancho in The Cisco Kid TV series in the 1950s), and is a designated California historic landmark.
Leo Carrillo Ranch Park is a fun, and free, place to visit anytime (kids will enjoy all the peacocks walking around the park), capturing the rich heritage of the west in Carlsbad.
