Allstate Insurance - Marketing Mistakes, Good
Hands My A**
It's entirely possible that I'm over-reacting. Nah...I never do that!!
Like clockwork, every 6 months or so, I get an email addressed to my late husband offering him life insurance. I mean, sure..who doesn't want life insurance for a dead husband. Let's start with a couple million?
Hello David,
Can you help me out for a moment? Over the years, as an insurance agent, I have found a couple of things
- Most people need some size life insurance policy.
- Most people don't like the medical exam part of buying life insurance.
- When delivering life insurance claims, to a spouse or child, no one has ever returned the money or said they didn't need it.
There is a solution for those under 45 years old. We have a policy that has no medical exam requirement!
I am not sure if this is a good fit for your situation, or not.
For those over 45 years old we have solutions, too!
If you are open to discussing your situation, simply reply to this email or contact our office directly to schedule an appointment.
Please let me know where you want to go from here.
Warmest regards,

Our goal is for you to be Completely Satisfied = 10 with our service. We hope that you will mark the "10" box if Allstate emails you a survey.
This annoys me on so many levels. For one thing...I'm no longer with this agent and this is just one example of why that is. He took over a business from an agent I'd been with since I was 15. His lack of service, knowledge and plain negligence caused me to finally leave Allstate.
That's been close to 4 years ago. Ever since then, when this email shows up....and those like it...I've called him, the main Allstate number, emails, Twitter, just asking that they understand how painful this is for me to see.
Just take me off this list!
Is that really so hard? Apparently it is! It might require actual work on someone's part and I suppose since I'm no longer a client, they just don't care.
I bring this up because I'm frustrated and annoyed. I would do anything to get this email to stop. Each time it shows up, I remember that I would NEVER work with Allstate again and it reminds me to tell everyone I know about it.
Oooooh, wouldn't it be terrible if we kept people on our email lists who feel like this? Just on the off chance that they might decide to buy or sell? Something to think about.
There is clearly nothing I can do on my Allstate problem. I need to let it go! I need to realize that every 6 months, this idiot agent is going to ask my dead husband if now is the time for life insurance. But then again.....each time it comes along, I suppose it's time to let people know how badly Allstate treats their customers, and this guy in particular.
Can you say Yelp? Twitter?
By the way....I did respond and let him know that "yes, we would like insurance for David"! Crickets...guess he never learned how to respond to a lead either. :)
