City of Aurora Watering Schedule 2016

Water is still one of our most precious resources.  Even though we have had plenty of snow this past winter, we need to be mindful of the amount of water we pour into our landscape.

The City of Aurora has come out with their 2016 watering schedule.

 city of aurora colorado

Residents of Aurora Colorado are permitted to water their lawns three days per week.  Residents can choose which three days they wish to irrigate.  Watering between 10:00 and and 6:00 pm is prohibited so make sure to set your automatic sprinkler system accordingly.

Here are the recommended watering times depending on the type of sprinklers you have:

Rotary Nozzles – 15 minutes per zone

Rotor Heads – 7 minutes per zone

Pop Up Sprinklers – 4 minutes per zone

            Manual Sprinklers – 15 minutes

If you have pop-up sprinklers, the City is recommending that you run them 4 minutes per zone, three times a day with at least one hour in between.

Having a lush lawn is always desirable but Please Don’t Waste Our Water!

Good morning, Belinda --- the Aurora watering schedule is a lot more user-friendly than many other cities in our area.

We always have to adjust our watering cycles as well, even though we try not to use much water because it is expensive, haha.  One of the detriments to living in the desert.

Hi Belinda - Good information for your readers. We do have to live responsibly with an arid climate and one source of water - snowfall, and three days watering a week ought to be plenty for anyone.

So interesting that you are on water restrictions. When I was a kid, my dad used to say that the greatest thing that would face me in my older years would be a lack of water. Since we lived on the Gulf of Mexico, I could never figure that one out

It's so true, we have to mindful of watering, even here in the wet and rainy Pacific Northwest. Water is a precious commodity.

Hello Belinda ...

There are many water restrictions in Las Vegas because it is located in the desert so I can relate to your post.
