Great Chicago Buildings: Marina City Day 4

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Exit Strategy Realty

Marina City (1967)  became the first design concept of  " a city within a city "by architect Bertrand Goldberg. The buildings at first stirred a lot of controversy because of its appearance looking like corn cobs standing on end but the buildings included everything a city dweller needed: shopping, entertainment, theatre, restaurants, bowling alley, ice skating rink, swimming pool, health club.

Marina City is also famous for Steve McQueen Movie " The Hunter" chase scene that has a car that ends up in the Chicago River.

Marina City is also the home of  "The House of Blues". I recommend going there for Sunday Brunch and Gospel Music.
