Spring Cleaning for a Summer Sale!

Are you preparing for a summer sale?

Well spring is in the air, and cleaning should be at the top of your list!

Take advantage of the nice weather and tackle that list of pre-sale cleaning! Here is a list of cleaning tasks that will have your house ready to be sold at top dollar!

Main entry :

• Dust the lights and light fixtures, as well as the light switches.
• Dust and wipe down the door and its trim - shine the doorknob and metal fixtures.
• Mop the floors/clean the walls (check for smudges and paint chips). 
  
  

Living Room:

• With a cleaning cloth, wipe down the walls, electrical outlets, and the light switches/fixtures.
• Clean the windows and the window sills. If there are any, dust the window blinds.
• Vacuum and clean the carpets and/or hardwood floors. 
• Vacuum and clean any dirty spots on couches, recliners, etc.
  
  

Bathroom:

• Deep clean any vanities and cabinets.
• Organize all object near sink and in cabinets – reduce clutter.
• Deep clean the commode, tub and shower, mirrors, light switches, and fixtures.
  
  

Kitchen:

• Remove clutter and then scrub the sink and countertops.
• Go through, clean, and organize your fridge and freezer.
• Deep clean the oven and scrub the stove top - clean behind all major appliances (oven, fridge, etc.)
• Dust and clean grime from the fridge coils.
• Run a complete dish washer cycle to clean it out.

In a hot sellers’ market like this, many eager buyers will drive by your property before showings start, to get a sneak peak. When a house has prime curb appeal, it attracts more buyers, which generally makes for a more competitive sale.

Gutters and Roof: Clean out all of the gutters and make sure there are no cracks or leaks. Inspect the roof – make sure there are no cracks, leaks, or missing shingles.
Grounds-keeping:  Cut the grass, trim the bushes and shrubs, clean out any dead leaves, and pressure wash the walkway/driveway.
