Reduced to rubble, so reported my creative daughter as she sent me this picture. It is the picture of what was left of the old dental office of Dr. Robert Miller, who practiced there for so many years. I was one of his patients and she probably was too. Here's the old view of it.
Speaking of creative, it was always a pleasure to go into his office because he was an artist. There were original works of art on his walls and he was an expert wood-working expert with beautiful turned bowls made of special wood. Before his death in 2013 there was a special art exhibit at the Searcy Art Gallery honoring him and several other artists. I was fortunate enough to purchase this bowl and will always cherish it. He put a card in the bowl saying, "This tree was cut down for the building site of Bubba and June Lewis' Home in the Creekwood Subdivision. Spalted Hickory Bowl. Dr. Robert (Bob) Miller."
Dr. Miller's obit included this, "After retiring at the end of 2006, Bob was able to devote more time to his many interests, especially working with wood, including making furniture and woodturning. He belonged to two woodworking clubs, where he enjoyed the companionship and friendship of other woodworkers."
The building and the business were sold to Dr. Paul Teed who had a successful dental office there until just a few months ago when he sold the building and moved to a new address.
I just realized this blog has turned into a memorial of not only a building but a very kind and gentle man named Dr. Robert Miller!!
