Getting Leaner and Meaner....

Today for Tee'd off Tuesday the news of another home invasion in Connecticut hit fairly close to my neighborhood. In this case the elderly woman was able to frighten off the intruder and according to the little news report she was not injured. Although I am by no means a trained as a psychologist I suspect anyone attacked in their bed would carry emotional injuries for a very long time.

Sad to say stories of home invasions involving rape and murder are becoming almost commonplace in the news. Just last month a recently released convict walked into an elderly woman's home on a Sunday morning while she was having coffee with her friend, she was shot but survived and her friend was kidnapped & killed.

These two latest home invasions occurred after Connecticut Lawmakers supposedly got tough on crime with new legislation.  Based on the continued activity of career criminals it is pretty clear they don't think much of the candy ass court system that offers them a free ride through life.

Last summer's triple murder in Cheshire certainly reawakened my thoughts on punishment but so far the slow wheels of government seem to be failing the law abiding citizens.

When I realized more and more people were arming themselves I thought it may create chaos in society but my opinion is starting to sway.  The modern day criminals have no regard for human life and time has come to start ending the life of these criminals.  With advances in DNA testing it should be pretty simple to determine guilt so the laws need to provide swift justice.

TERMINATION TIME should not come after years of appeals and decades of life living on our tax dollars.  Get the job done within 30 days of conviction.

It has been many years since I have played with guns but sitting back watching as society deteriorates while more and more people are attacked in their homes does not make sense.  My thoughts are leaning towards sharpening shooting skills so if aiming is required a kill can be registered.

Of course there are many other ways to protect yourself while at home. Dogs are a great deterrent and securely bolted doors make it more difficult for an intruder to slip in undetected.  Alarm systems might frighten them off before you are in any danger of harm but when it comes down to you or them I hope the story I read is that another homeowner terminated a less desirable member of the human race.

Mana.... Actually our closest personal encounter with crime came when we were in Southern CA!  While on vacation Sandra had the camera attached to the outside of her purse or backpack and someone snipped the wrist strap to steal the camera... No harm beyond the few hundred bucks to replace it.....

Sandra.... Only if packing a pistol isn't a more exciting bang!  LOL

Quite a shame Dano, quite a shame.  These things sicken me and I can only hope we will evolve beyond this to ensure that it is a rarity, not the norm.....no matter where one lives.

That said, I can hear Steven Tyler's voice ring loud, "Sandra's Got A Gun."

That's pretty funny My Jason!!

I had an intruder attempt to get into my bedroom one night about 5 years ago, so I went out the next day and bought a Sig 40, got my concealed weapons permit and became an expert shot. What else is a girl to do??

Eye for an Eye........Punishment fo murder takes WAY to long in our cout system. I've always believed, if you have capitol punishment - USE IT! Waiting year after year after year on death row is certainly cruel and unusaul punishment. Swift and Just - Make em gone!!   Can't have a gun in my house. My luck, somebody would use it on ME!

J & J...  The way you two are going at it I better offer some words of wisdom... Better yet... A Shower Scene...

Scott...  Unfortunately I think the statistics show that homeowners with guns tend to get on the wrong end of it.  If you have one I imagine you need to be ready to make a split second decision if you need to pull the trigger.

I have 2 big dogs that are not easy to spot at night by their ultra - terrifying chocolate(lab) coats.  THEY are great watch dogs for me and my family and make me feel very safe.  HOWEVER...we're experiencing some of the same not far enough away for my comfort.  It really makes you stop and think...how sad!

Jennifer.... I didn't know they could be touched..... After all these years I learn something new!

Susie... Dogs do work well...  With the tough economic conditions you expect crime to rise but the types of attacks now are just crazy.....

Sandra... Don't think I was give a copy of that video....

Dan these people should be punished to the max, but while they are awaiting their trail they should be put in a cell with some big guy named Bubba who wants to show them just how much he likes them.

We just found out right down the street there have been a lot of cars getting broken into. It's a little scary. The last time we had someone close to getting in our house was about 15 years ago. They tried to sneak in through a bedroom window and the kids snoring scared him off.

Seems to be more and more of it I wonder if the press never reported crime if crime would go down.
