This annual festival is held annually in White Sulphur Springs, WV, in celebration and appreciation for the determination of the dandelion. The gutsy little flower fights its way through velvety lawns, dodges mowers and weed killers, and against all odds, reigns supreme as it blankets our village each spring.
Below are some of the weekend activities that include a variety of entertainment for the festival. For exact time for each event, check out the schedule of events for the 2016 West Virginia Dandelion Festival.
Starting on Friday, May 27, 5:00 pm:
Opening ceremony and Concessions like arts, crafts, miscellaneous, and of course, food. For the kids, Fun Factory Kids Activities; a wine and cheese reception catered by the Greenbrier Sporting Club, music, live band and dancing, and much more.
Saturday, May 28 - starting at 8:00 am -
WSS Rotary Fishing Derby at the National Fish Hatchery; CASA’s Superhero 5k Race; a Car Show; an art show exhibit; Fun Factory Kid’s Activities; a Turkey Calling Contest; dandelion shotgun sporting clays, clogging dance by High Voltage Dance group; live bands and dancing; a dandy leg contest featuring men, and much more!
Sunday, May 29 - starting at 1:00 pm
Enjoy a parade, Disc Golf, Art ShowExhibit; Concessions, Fun Factory Kids Activities; Veterans Only Luncheon; Veterans Appreciation & Memorial Service and a Gospel Sing.
