Blogs that Build Feedback!!

Although I have been involved with this site for a couple of years now I am only now, sort of getting a feel for what will elicit a response here.  Blogging is a skill to be learned and I am a student, thanks in part to this site.

  1. As this is a community dominated by Realtors, you need to make comments that  interest them.  I am still figuring out what interests realtors...lol especially as an investor
  2. Having a good title really helps.  I have read many blogs that have a great tile but the content wasn't there for me, but if it weren't for the title I wouldn't had read to blog
  3. This is just a hunch, cannot substantiate it but the time of day would probably factor in.  More specifically how many available readers are online to comment and give feedback.
  4. Get into a comments conversation and you can ask more directly to someone what they think.
  5. If anyone would like to add their points; although asking for feedback doesn't seem to get feedback.  That might just be the whole give a little info to get a little info thing

Thanks for the comment

I really think the energy factor is a big thing.  I wrote in another blog(sorry don't know how to link it) about how some people have great content and others just copy the news and don't put themselves into it. I like when you get a sense from someone that their energy is in it.

Keenan:  I also believe that blogging is in part transparency.  It involves letting the world at large into your world.  It is designed in many ways to let to world have a relationship with you, before they physically meet you.  For this reason, it is the perfect medium for a business such real estate and investing in it because it is a relationship business at the core.  I strongly feel therefore that a person's BLOG needs to be more than JUST ABOUT REAL ESTATE.  I know there are those here that would differ with me, but my opinion is based on the fact that the web has really not changed the business side of real estate that much.  Creating a BLOG that is more a less the same as a website except that it is not static content, doesn't change the context much.  Creating a BLOG that lets the consumer see the real you, invites those that resonate with your belief systems know you BEFORE they choose to do business with you.  Therefore those that call you from your BLOG are much more likely to love the way you service their business and you have happier transactions!  Sorry for the diatribe!  Steve

That is some good insight.  I agree.  I actually am somewhat shy to talk about the other areas of my life here as it is 'letting people in' if you will.  I am a cautious person when it comes to new ventures.  Not afraid, but cautious.  I have read many many blogs, not just on this site and people do reveal themselves better than they realize.

As for letting people know more about me?  You've provoked in me some ideas of other topics to talk about that I enjoy and will reveal a part of me that I normally wouldn't in a forum such as this.
