Have YOU Been Hacked Lately?

Passwords NEED to be Cryptic! This is NOT an option.

Who doesn't love an email with attached docs that have an offer to purchase one of your listings? Tempting for sure to click on, but beware as they are bait for you getting hacked. I had three emails like this over the last 24 hours that were accounts that had been hacked. While I knew better than to click on them, what about that persons security issues.

The agent that just got hacked and sent it to you is toast.

Most likely that person is telling you that it happens repeatedly. Sound familiar?? I see it happening with the same people over and over again.

A wise tech person once told me that your password needs to changed often and be at least 12 characters long with a combination of the following:

A minimum of one of each of the following, and at least 12 characters long - I use 18 most of the time.

  • 1 Capital
  • 1 Numeral
  • 1 lower cas
  • 1 symbol

Those are the requirements. The password shouldn't be MYDog(Spot)1

To truly be a password, it should look something like this

Hard to remember, but I can tell you that once you start using passwords like this getting hacked happens way less.

Changing your passwords often is important too. I aim for every two months for my most important accounts.

This is such great information.  When a hacker gets your password on one account, they'll try using that same password on other accounts.  Don't use the same password on all accounts.
