Five Fantastic Father's Day Gift Ideas

By
Home Stager with Sharon Tara Transformations

Father's Day is Sunday June 19, 2016.

It's rapidly approaching....just three weeks away.

Buying for my dad has never been easy, and his birthday is the end of May so every year I'm trying to come up with two gifts for him in the same 2 week period.

Today I'm sharing some gift ideas that I personally have used for my dad with great results.

Gift Idea #1

The first gift idea is one I have shared before...

It's called Bottlekeeper. After my husband got one and LOVED it, we got one for my dad. Dad was pretty impressed and really likes the product, but he usually buys cans, not bottles when he buys beer. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks!

That brings us to

Gift Idea #2....

The Yeti Rambler Colster  keeps cans (or bottles) cold for hours.  Think of Koozie on steroids. It has double-wall vacuum insulation and a no sweat design. It's made with kitchen grade 18/8 stainless steel. Whether your dad drinks beer or soft drinks, cans or bottles, he will love it!

This is what my dad is getting this year.

Gift Idea #3

If your dad doesn't use cans or bottles and prefers water or mixed beverages, consider getting the Yeti 30 oz. Rambler Tumbler. It keeps ice 2x longer than those popular plastic tumblers.

My husband has one and uses it every day.

Gift Idea #4

The Road ID bracelet is great if your dad is very active, or if your dad is elderly and could use some identification in case of an emergency. My dad loves his. He wears it every day and says it gives him peace of mind.

Gift Idea #5

When all else fails.....give him meat!

Simply buy dad some steaks, or whatever cuts of meat he likes. Arrange them in a gift box with tissue paper and take a picture.

Gift wrap the picture with a card saying his "gift" is in the freezer!

Give him meat! What Dad wouldn't love grilling on Dad's Day! Nice ideas!

Kind of ironic coming from me, someone who doesn't eat much meat....but I know he loves it.

Hi Sharon - Good ideas for those few of us who like adult beverages and meat. I'd like one of those alert bracelets - I want mine to say "Erase My Browser History".

I think we would all like that! Great idea. LOL

Those are all things that my Father would enjoy receiving, not sure what I will get him yet or what we might do for him on his day, but I am sure it will be good!

These are great gift ideas for folks looking for Father's Day ideas.  Sadly, it's been a really long time since I lost my father.

My wife and I have rented a cottage on the Oregon Coast for my father to stay at with us.  We'll visit Newport, see some covered bridges, enjoy some fresh seafood, and watch the surf roll in.

Buying for dads  is hard....unless your dad has a particular hobby or interest and even then there is only so much you can do.

Great ideas, Sharon.  I can relate.  My Dad's b-Day is beginning of June, so 2 in a row, too.

Yes. Especially if you state which ones you are interested in.  Go for it!

Sharon, I have heard beer doesn't taste as good when it starts warming, so some great gifts for dads!

People who love beer do not love warm beer!  Best to get one of these great gadgets to prevent it from happening!

Josh is a very simple man. He's not a collector of things but he's a doer of things. I can always go get him a new tool and he'll find some way to use it!

That's great! When my dad was younger it was a bit easier.  He doesn't need or want much now.

Sharon- I fell over when I read #5!  BTW we had some kind of non-meat chicken nuggets tonight.  I doubt they'll see the inside of our fridge again.

May 28, 2016 10:17 AM
Sharon Tara

I don't do the non-meat products....to me they are not good for you because of the ingredients used to make them. Those products are not for the people like me who are giving up meat to eat healthier. They are for the people giving up meat for the sake of animals.

Lou Ludwig  For all the meat eating dads, yes!  Not such a good idea for the vegan or vegetarian dads though.

These are great gift ideas for the people who need to start thinking about what to dads now!

Although, I have not had to purchase father's day gifts in a very long time, I remember my dad was thrilled if I gave him a fishing lure and a lottery ticket.

Robert Vegas Bob Swetz  Hope you are enjoying the weekend!  We didn't get the great weather we were supposed to get. Oh well. It happens!

Patricia Feager  My dad likes lottery tickets too. Sucks when they are losers though. LOL

My dad loves his Yeti Colster. We got my mom the 30 ounce tumbler and she can't believe how long the ice lasts. Great gifts!
