Hi Joe Petrowsky - It took us 3 tries to get there. The first time it was closed, the second time it was Veteran's Day and we couldn't get close to it. The third time was on a 4 hour layover.  We had to hurry but our timing was perfect. We will go again and spend more time there. 

Hi Gabe Sanders - It is by no means, a normal burial site. There is a deeper connection. The next time we can fit it in our travel plans we will definitely go back.

Roy Kelley - Your family holds a very special connection to Pearl Harbor. My sister-in-law who is half Hawaiian, both her grandparents worked at Pearl as civilians. Her grandfather was there on that fateful day.  It is a great gift to hear first hand about history from the perspective of a survivor. Thanks for sharing your comment.

Hi Kathy Streib - you couldn't be more right.  I have a deep urge to visit many of our most historical areas including battlefields of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars as well as the 3 sites of 9/11.  

Hi Lou Ludwig - Those attacks woke a sleeping giant. I think we have to ask ourselves, are we a better world after having gone through this tradgedy? Have a mindful and relaxing holiday.
