What better way to spend the height of summer than at the Westview Summer Solstice Celebration 2016, the 9th annual celebration, on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 from 12:00pm-8:00pm! Come hang out for an afternoon full of fun activities for the whole family and support the little neighborhood of Westview! The festival will feature an afternoon of food, parade, music, art and games.
The Westview Summer Solstice Celebration 2016 day’s events include:
- Grill-Off Competition – Sign up to participate in the grill-off competition
- Grill-Off Passports – Purchase a “passport” to taste the grill-off food
- Art/Vendor Market – Sign up to participate in the artist market
- Pet Costume Parade – New in 2016 – the pet parade
The cost is $75.00 to participate in the grill-off. Your team will be responsible for supplying your meat for the Best of the BeltLine BBQ. The grill-off categories are chicken (whole chickens) and pork (pork butt for pulled pork). $100 worth of prizes and bragging rights go to the winners of the contest!
Are you ready to sample a taste of southwest Atlanta? Our “Best Of The BeltLine BBQ” grill-off “passport” will allow you to sample the different foods from the participating grill-off contestants. In prior years there was so much food most people were too full to taste everything – what a deal! Once you have tasted all the different categories submit your vote for “the best of…”.
Music will keep visitors entertained. There will be a parade led by Kipp Atlanta Collegiate Sounds Of Royalty. Local artisans and non-profits will have booths in the Artists Market. Interactive Arts & Crafts to keep the kids entertained. They’ll have game tournaments going on during the festival including bingo, dominoes and bid whist.
Bring camping chairs, an appetite, money for the grill-off and vendors, sunscreen, friends and smiles.
