Gardenia Love

My family and I moved into a new house this past December, and my favorite bush was in bloom at that time because of our crazy warm Winter that we had over the past year. I was so happy to find a gardenia in front of our house, because I have wanted one over the past few years since I have learned the wonders of the scent of gardenias. Up until I discovered the smell of gardenias, the southern magnolia had been my favorite smell in nature.

This past week, my son told me that we had a new gardenia bloom on the bush, and over the next few days, over 50 blooms appeared on the bush. It is an olfactory delight, and I just wanted to encourage everyone out there to stick their nose in a Gardenia bloom this week to bring yourself this joy!

Love gardenias, Bill (just not in perfume as it gives me headaches). That is one gorgeous picture. I'm envious.

Thanks for the heads-up Bill Dandridge I am not familiar with gardenias. I need to see if they will tollerate our climate as I just so happen to be looking for a shrub at this time.
