A long-time friend asked me at a BBQ this past weekend just how many people I have helped in this business of lending anyhow, and if it ever gets "old?"
As I sat back and reflected, I tried to put a number on it. I realized that I am coming up (rather quickly) on my 18th consecutive year, helping families obtain the financing for their homes. That really put it into perspective for me.
I replied with the biggest smile, "You know what? I bet that I have helped obtain/close just over 2200 loans in my time."
"You're kidding me." He said in amazement.
I told him the best part about writing all of these loans is the satisfaction that comes with knowing what an important role I'm actually playing in making someone else's dream come true. When they finish signing, smile and say: "Sergio, we couldn't have done it this successfully without you, thank you." No words that I've found yet can describe that feeling.
Does it ever get hard? Sure. Are some deals much harder to put together than others? Of course. (But what is a life without a challenge anyhow?)
And to answer your initial question, does it ever get old? Not a chance.
After all these years, I still look forward to helping families and their referrals never go unappreciated (or unanswered.)
It's a reciprocal, people business and I wouldn't change it even if I could. Give me a call and let me show you what I'm talking about.
