The Most Expensive Home sold in Arizona last week - 5/31/16

The most expensive home that sold in Arizona last week was a new construction property in the exclusive subdivision of Silverleaf located in DC Ranch. A huge home at over 8,000 square feet, it took over a year and a half to build this house which sold for $5.7 million dollars. Can you imagine the anticipation of the new owners as month after month elapsed? Countless visits to the home site most likely had these buyers restless to see each new phase of the building process. At the outset of reviewing and approving the architectural plans all the way to choosing each material, fixture and finishing these eager homeowners were undoubtedly a large part of the operation.

Situated on 1.2 acres of prime desert land in Scottsdale, the exterior of this luxury residence is everything you'd expect from an Arizona property of this caliber. Native and indigenous plants and trees were carefully laid out around the grounds as to blend in the home to it's surroundings. Tucked in to the base of the McDowell Mountain range there are endless breathtaking views to enjoy. The photo's of the interior show the home's unfinished state but still give us a sense of the greatness that will be represented upon completion. Custom touches abound including the brick clad wine room, and sliding barn door entry way in to the home office. A detached guest casita and 4-car garage round out this magnificent and expertly built luxury property. Click on the picture below for the full MLS listing:

Scottsdale continues to amaze.   It has grown from a small western town with some 5 star resorts, to the Beverly Hills of Arizona.

That's a pretty impressive home. No doubt the new owners are thrilled to have it done and ready to move it so they can enjoy the Scottsdale lifestyle

Rhonda - I wish it was mine to sell. This is just a weekly blog series I do but hopefully one day I'll be featuring my own listing.

Freddie Laser - Scottsdale is so eclectic. You have multi-million dollar homes, swanky restaurants, high priced shopping, but sprinkled amongst all of that you have houses and neighborhoods that are dilapidated and worn down.

Jeff - I can only imagine the anticipation the owners had during the building process.

Belinda - It's a pretty typical Arizona style luxury home.

Gary - A beach view would be nice but the mountain views are pretty great too.

Alexandra - The DC Ranch area is expensive for a reason. Location, location, location.

Bob - It's a little too big for my liking as well. I wouldn't know what to do with all that space.

Dick - The finishings on this house are great. Simple yet still luxurious.

George - I can only imagine.

Chris - I'm assuming if you have the money to buy that home you're going to have a professional designer furnish it for you. It's going to be fabulous I'm sure.

Conrad - I'm guessing it's grass.

Patricia - Thanks so much Patricia! I don't often get up that way to Scottsdale but when I do it's a reminder of why it's so expensive to live there.

I always enjoy this feature Nicole. It is interesting to lean about luxury properties and you do a great job of highlighting them.

Noah - I enjoy learning about other areas around the Country as well, including yours.

Paul - I've never built a custom home for myself before. I imagine it's a tedious and stressful process.

Lou - Most of them are split between Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.

Hi Nicole --- I like the architecture quite a bit but the setting is what truly makes this home very special to me.   I wonder what Mike Rock might think of this new home.

Michael Jacobs  nice home. i would do a couple things for this back side that are easy and not a lot of money. I would put matching stone on the two gables (in red) i would change the color of the awnings (the idea which i like btw) and i would spice up the chimney top. also more colorful standing plant pots in like a bright blue would be sweet. but thats at first blush
