It's time once again for the semi annual, "Show Us Your Home Challenge". This is a great opportunity to show everyone something summertime special about your hometown. This doesn't have to be a picture of your home, but please feel free to share one if there is something special about your home that stands out during the summer months.
Here are some suggestions:
- You can spotlight a local park.
- You can write about a walking trail.
- Does your area have a popular restaurant with fun outdoor dining?
- Take pictures at a local annual event.
The theme is summer and what stands out in your area during the summer months. So decide what's unique where you live, take a picture and then tell everyone about it.
I decided to share a picture of Main Street in my hometown of Cedaredge, CO. For the beginning of June, Main Street is decked out with flags. They were put up for Memorial Day, and will stay up through the weekend for the third annual Celebrate Cedaredge event on Saturday. I think Main Street looks amazing with all of the waving flags. My office is also getting decked out for the summer months. We still have a bit of work to do, but we'll get it done soon.
The rules are simple. Don't over think this one. Take a good quality picture of something that stands out in your area during the summer months. It doesn't have to be your home. See the above suggestions I listed.
You can share more than one photo if you would like. Google really likes pictures, and video is even better. Post a video instead of a picture. You can use this challenge as an opportunity to rack up some good old SEO, and help make yourself known as the local expert. Whether you post a photo or a video is up to you.
Each entry will receive 500 points. If you share more than one picture, or a video, the points are the same. You can enter one time. Multiple entries will be appreciated, but won't give you any more points. The challenge ends on June 30th 11:59 PM MST. Put a link to your post in the comments sections. That way I'll know you entered the challenge.
NO dark or blurry photos will be given challenge points.
Have fun with this, and I can't wait to see your pictures.
