Mortgage Ready FIRST
A Lesson I Wish I'd Learned Earlier in My Career

A lesson I wished I had learned earlier in my Career is to show homes ONLY when people were TRULY MORTGAGE READY.
No, it isn't enough to tell me that you are sure you are Mortgage Ready. First thing I need is to receive ACTUAL documentation to prove that you are really Mortgage Ready.
No, that is not a "Do-It-Yourself" Online Self-Approval form. Mortgage Ready means everything in George Souto 's post and then maybe even more!
We are not saying Pre-Approval - we are saying Mortgage Ready. Let's look at what John Meussner wrote about PRE-APPROVAL ...
"How long is a mortgage pre-approval good for? The truth is, it's good for the 30 seconds it was printed ..."
How about a post written by Jeff Pearl? What makes a Buyer Mortgage Ready in the eyes of the Seller?
A wonderful post about getting Mortgage info before showing homes, written by Beth Atalay , is a must read for people like me - dreamers who are always ready to trust other people when they say something.
So - clearly - verifying that someone is Mortgage Ready before doing any research (read that as time spent) or going out to show any property (read that as time spent) or anything else to do with devoting time to an unsubstantiated financing situation MUST be the first step.
So a lesson TRULY I wish I had learned earlier in my Career is to give time to prospective Clients ONLY when they PROVE that they are MORTGAGE READY.
All the best - Lynn
