Visit The New Museum in New York City

By
Home Stager with Feng Shui Manhattan Long Island #888

Marcia Tucker officially founded the New Museum on January 1, 1977, it was the first museum devoted toestablished in New York City since the Second World War. The New Museum’s stated mission was to be a catalyst for a broad dialogue between artists and the public by establishing “an exhibition, information, and documentation center for contemporary art made within a period of approximately ten years prior to the present.” The Museum presented the work of living artists who did not yet have wide public exposure or critical acceptance to a broader public.

There is so much rich history and to read more please visit: New Museum History

The Current exhibit (June 2016) is not to be missed. All the artist are all female and the subject matter discussed through their artwork is very powerful. I invite and encourage you to visit this museum, take a tour and dig deeper.

Address: New Museum 235 Bowery, New York, NY 10002

I'm getting ready to come to NYC in July.  I'm a native, my boyfriend has never been.  I am also trying to get tix for Hamilton for less than $100.  Pipe dream?

When I lived in New Jersey I spent a lot of time in New York not so in recent years.

Good luck and success.

Laura, now truly wonderful that all of the artists are women. I"m trying to figure out that second photo...anorexia comes to mind. Not sure. The 3rd one's my favorite!

Joanna Cohlan showed me SO much of NYC when I was there weeks ago--gosh, what a conglomerate of art, design, intrigue, and way too many photographic moments!

Hey Gayle, the second photo with the sculpture from what I was told is a self portrait of the actual artist. It plays off the treatment of a emotions when a women is repetitively used in a relationship. There is much more, but just scratching the surface.
