One of San Antonio's most overlooked treasures is the small but charming San Pedro Park, its actual full name is San Pedro Springs Park due to the spring waters that orginally drew people to this area.  San Pedro Park was created on land reserved by the Spanish government in the 18th century and is the Alamo city oldest park. In fact, it is the 2nd oldest park in America. The park through its long history has had ups and downs and periods when it flourished but also periods when it was somewhat neglected. However, with its last major updating in 1998-2000 the park is again flourishing and continues as one of the Alamo city's most active and scenic parks.

In addition to an attractive city pool, a city branch library, the well known McFarlin Tennis Courts, the Playhouse of San Antonio (generally called San Pedro Playhouse) and the welcoming and shaded grounds the park offers offer San Antonio citizen a charming, historic, shaded and welcoming recreational area.

The park is located 1315 San Pedro just across from the main campus of San Antonio College and just a few minutes north of downtown San Antonio.
