Dont have Hurricane amnesia..
This blog from Lesley Wilson-VanGoethem is a good reminder for all of us here in Coastal Carolina.
Woke up this AM to the local news stations beginning their tropical storm warnings, common from June-Nov in Florida,
Then the email alerts started from the Emergency Management Center.
"The Office of Emergency Management is closely monitoring the tropical disturbance developing near the Yucatan Peninsula. As a result, the Emergency Operations Center is activating to coordinate response to the storm. The major concerns related to this system include heavy rains, localized flooding, and spin-off tornadoes"
While it becomes second nature to all of us in Fl and many of the surrounding states, it should never be taken lightly.
the "spaghetti strands" for potential paths show us that virtually anything can happen..Don't have Hurricane Amnesia- ( is been 10 years since Fl had its last one)
BE PREPARED,,, Not only supplies, but are your valuable papers in a safe place? Is it waterproof??
And for anyone buying a home ,,, Have you binded your insurance policy?
Once the storm enters "the box" new policies can be written,, ( Closings will not occur on any uninsured mortgaged properties) and no changes can be made to existing policies including flood insurance.
So , ,,,,,, Are you ready?????
