Ok, yes, I really was not talking about my brain, but that probably works too. What I was thinking about with that active 10% of my brain was software. That code that does all sorts of wonderful things for us. You can type letters, sort lists, create beautiful images or exciting movies, or just send a brief note or full email. Think of all the software you use each day.
I have been learning some new software recently and once again I believe that I will learn the 10% that I need today, and the other 90% may never be learned. What a waste. That other 90% might hold a key to doing something much easier. That other 90% might contain new ways of doing business. New ways to streamline your business. Maybe I should be learning the software I already own?
It also might be the old 80/20 rule. That 10% of a program that you use might be 80% of everything you need. If you don't know what the other 90% of the program does, can you really make that assumption?
So, this week, open up a program you use daily and look around. See what else it will do and learn one new thing. You'll never know what will happen unless you do.
