Advertising is a big racket. Billions of dollars are spent trying to get our attention to pick up the phone, log into this site and walk into that office. The words chosen are not accidents; they are studied, tested and proven to be effective. It’s call prose, or verse or slogans. I have friends in advertising and studied it a bit myself, back in the day.
The truth is however that anyone with a budget can get a silver tongued expert to spit out a fantastic advertising campaign and make the phone ring. A great website does not mean a good buying or selling experience. A wonderful billboard doesn’t equate to competent representation and a low fee is not always a bargain.
When you are buying or selling a home, look past the slick presentation and consider the presenter. What experience, in the industry and out, do they bring to the table to ensure you will have the best possible outcome? If they keep repeating the same talking points, dodging direct questions and relying on a company name they had little to do with building, keep on looking.
A top pro brings a wealth of experience to your transaction. They are committed to your success, knowing that If you don’t achieve your goals, they won’t achieve theirs. It’s okay to notice the fancy presentations and ask the right questions, but when the time comes to decide on who will represent you in one of the biggest transactions of your life, are you looking for fancy prose or a top Pro?
