On July 1, 2016, HAR, The Houston Association of Realtors, will be forced to start charging more money for what has been offered for free to its members.
Since 1997, all tools developed by HAR have been incorporated into a single MLS package without raising MLS fees.

What needs to be understood by the members of HAR, is the fact the NAR policies changed and HAR was forced to offer a basic package to members that did not want to pay items they did not want or use. HAR did not do this willingly and should not be blamed for you the member having to pay more for the same products you already have.
MLS Platinum Package
This is from HAR: "NAR policies and federal antitrust laws have resulted in changes that require local MLS's to UNBUNDLE MLS services which are advertising related. Effective July 1, 2016, HAR will comply with these new "NAR policies" by including HAR advertising related tools in an optional "ADD-ON" package of services call MLS Platinum."
Could this be a result of the new direction of NAR and Project Upstream? I can't answer that, but it sure seems to be playing into that ballpark.
So as I sit here, typing this, I have paid for the new MLS Platinum and for one, glad to have it.
