Your process to license is similar here in CA. Once you have your license, you are ready to start learning-I highly recommend a mentor or coach, because the licensing process will not prepare you at all for the industry.

Although some subscribe to using the title 5 or more times in the post rule, as you obviously do, many blog gurus these days argue that's old school and unnecessary. However, if you plan to stick with it, try to be more subtle, so your readers do not get distracted by it (as I did)...you want to build blog followers, so write from the mind, heart and souls; authentically. My opinion not a written rule.

Welcome to Active Rain. From what you have shared it appears your life is very busy with all that real estate stuff, and 'almost virtual' stuff, and wanting to get into the 'Showing and Listing' game.

You have been peeking over the fence for some time and hopefully you know what you are getting yourself into.

At this very moment you are in a very unique position that will soon evaporate and be replaced by the 'real estate agent' distortion. Before that occurs, take inventory of your intent. Write it down.

How will making this change, alter the course of your life?

How will making this change affect those important to you?

How will making this change affect those around you?

How will making this change contribute to the full-filling life you seek?

Do this, write it down,  before all the real estate gobbly gook influences your vision.

Why will this prove important? This is the only time you will have the real life opportunity to record what is going through the mind of an about to be new agent. Expand on the record by including what you currently fear, what you perceive lurks in the shadows, what if anything you wish you knew more about right now.

Expand on it further. Record what you think a home buyer or seller expects or needs. Record it now BEFORE all the marketers have a chance to brainwash you.

One outcome of this exercise is a library of things that are REAL to you. Guess what? These same topics, (before distortion) will appeal to the citizen with whom you wish to engage. While others are trolling the streets with "What's your home worth?" you should be creating a resonance through which your message and intent will be amplified. It is the genuine you, the vulnerable you, that the universe needs and will reward.

But you have only one opportunity to make record before the distortion.

Finally, allow yourself the opportunity to have fun on Active Rain.

Playing in the rain can prove magical.

There are many essentials, yet, when you're new to the business, controlling your time and activities with emphasis on selecting your niche and marketing to that constituency IMO will be more valuable than other tasks.

Create a business and time management plan to execute your business goals and objectives for every quarter for the first two years and be ready to adapt and adopt any changes that are prudent to reach your goals. All the best to your success and if you have time left over to blog on the Rain, more power to you. Great post.

I am sure you are moving forward in right direction - with your first post (a great feature) and not to mention about your mindset - Blogging is Esssential!

I remember when I wrote my first blog. Who is going to read my material? Wow, I was wrong. People want the information. Blog it and they will come.

Your broker is wise!  Congrats on focusing on getting your real estate license.  It is never boring in this field.  Blogging will come naturally once you have a mindset for it.  Read and follow as many people as you can.  Soon you'll start to see that they blog on all different topics, real estate related and sometimes not.  When you read a post, you'll also notice that your point of view might be different - a perfect re-blog.  You can add a line or two and re-blog someone's post, complimenting their post and adding more details.  Good luck!
