Life's a Beach in Ivins, Utah!

Thanks to the collaborative effort of the City of Ivins, the Washington County Water Conservancy District and the Shivwits Band of Paiutes, along with the help of many others, Fire Lake Park is now open to the public!
The description “Fire Lake” is derived from the Shivwits name for the spot, it means reservoir. Canoe and paddle-boat rentals are available to rent. 7,000 cubic yards of sand was brought in to create the beach and swimming area.
Ivins Reservoir is constantly being fed fresh water that will maintain year 'round usability thanks to the levee that was built. Future plans include improved parking, adding picnic areas and permanent restrooms.
Preserving the wildlife habitat that surrounds the area is of utmost importance as well by leaving part of the park in a natural state. It is one of many places to bird watch throughout the year in southern Utah.
Besides swimming, you can:
- Boat
- Fish
- Hike
- Canoe
- Paddle-boat
There is much FUN to be had at Fire Lake Park in Ivins, Utah! I am looking forward to taking our little Bbaby Ruger to splish-splash and create more memories of fun times spent in the great southern Utah outdoors.
See you there!
