It's time for another chapter of Adventures in Home Showings.  My first post, Adventures in Home Showings  was my beginning of looking at houses in and around the Chester County, Pennsylvania area.

These were from a little while ago, my client had the pictures in her camera :)  Both incidents happened the SAME DAY with the same clients.

dog tombstoneIt's a little hard to make out, but this stone is in the bed between the house and garage.

Bless her! And I'm sure the owners have some cherished memories. I'm not so sure however, that this is good staging advice.  My clients were affected. "Do the remains stay?"

The Mom in me (and animal lover) can't be stopped. We hit (NO, bad word usage!) came across a Road Block. The next house on the list there was a black fluff ball walking in the very middle of the road. "I hope you don't mind if I stop", I tell my Buyers.  Thankfully Samsun had a tag with his name and phone number. I pick him up, much to his dismay (he was heavy too!) and dial.

"Hello?"
"Hi. This is Kim with RE/MAX Main Line, I have Samsun, he was walking down the middle of Carol Lane."
"Oh. It is. Hold on let me look"  It was a teenager on the phone, guess he didn't get the fact that I wouldn't know he has a dog name Samsun?
He came back to the phone, "Yeah. She's missing."
"Where do you live? I am on Carol Lane"
"Oh. We live on Carol Lane. In a house on the corner"

Ok. Samsun had just begun his journey, he wasn't too far and I walked him to his house.

Another day in the life of Kim Wood, as a Buyer Agent showing homes in Malvern, PA. It breaks up the day a bit, that's for sure!  If you are looking for a home, and you'd like to have fun while doing it - call me!

Hi Kim!  My beloved Pasha is buried under a bench in my garden.  She was an ornery cat.  I don't have a stone but if I move, I wasn't planning on taking her with me.  Of course, I'm not planning on moving either.  Nice touch taking the doggie home.  That was very nice of you.

Hi Kim, you are so sweet picking up the dog and calling the homeowner and bringing it home safely! Our days as a Realtor are definitely unique to say the least!

After reading this post, I'm wondering if my collections of dead relatives on my fireplace mantel might not be in good taste?

Kim--Yep Samsun could have been next with a little marker in the yard if not for you! And smart sellers remove the crosses and plaques marking the past pets as part of the staging of the landscape!

Susan, Awh, Pasha!  Yeah, just don't make it obvious she's there!

Jeanette, Clients in the car - grabbing her camera :) She's like me taking pictures of 'events' as they happen :)

Vickie, No choice in my eyes - right in the middle of road - and black!!!   Yes, quite the adventures!

Joe, LOL. Yeah, ummmmm, let's get some staging there, ok? Love 'em... but....

Teri, True :(  ....  It would be hard to ask a seller to remove it, but it made us sad!
