Middletown, CT, CT is a very divers town.  We have a vibrant down, as well as working farms.  The picture above as well as the pictures below are of farms just down the street from me, less than 1/4 mile away.  Besides the cows, horses, and crops on these farms, they also grow their own hay.  This week a few of the Local Middletown, CT Farmers Are Out Cutting & Bailing Hay.

For these Farmers this is nothing special and a lot of hard work.  But for a city folks like me, watching them haying and then bailing it is a special sight.  The local Farmers will do this several times during the Summer and beginning of Fall.  The hay they produce and bail is what their animals will survive on during the Winter months.  I hope you enjoy the pictures below of the Local Middletown, CT Farmers Out Cutting & Bailing Hay this past week.

This is the time to rake it in for the winter feeding. In facts they may get another crop or two before cold weather.

George I am seeing a lot of this too.  I love seeing the bales of hay lined up in a row.

Good morning George. The weather has been just perfect to cutting to ultimately bring in the hay. Appreciate you sharing the photos, as I understand this process very well.

Farmers don't have an easy life that is for sure...work none of us consider when we sit down at a table with literally the "fruits of their labors."

George,  farming and physical labor is a lot of hard work. I am glad I am not one having to do it.  Happy Sunday!

Hi George - I remember those days from when I lived in rural PA. I used to help my friend who has a horse farm cut their 50+ acres - it was pretty hard work.

Hi George Souto ,  It's fascinating to see the fields being worked in NE Indiana, because we have a lot of Amish farms.  They still uses teams of horses to plow cutivate the fields. The Amish women not only do all the house chores, but we see them driving teams of horses along with the rest.  I don't know how they do it!
