Bozeman, Montana has long been known as a gateway town to Yellowstone National Park, but in the last decade or so, Bozeman has begun to stand on its own as a tourist destination. Just this month, the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport welcomed American Airlines to its fleet, adding yet another non-stop flight to a metropolitan city. The Bozeman airport reached a record number 1 million passengers in 2015 making it the largest airport in the state of Montana. The number of passengers has been steadily increasing since 2010, averaging approximately 7% growth year over year.


So far, in 2016 the number of passengers at the Bozeman airport has increased 9% compared to 2015 YTD. July and August have proven to be the busiest months at the airport over the last 10 years – a time which correlates with the height of tourist season. This year, the number of tourists visiting Yellowstone National Park is expected to exceed last year’s 4 million visitors mark. In the first five months of 2016, the number of visitors in Yellowstone was already up 14.65% over the previous year.
