Which would you rather see in a Master BR - A bath or walk in closet?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Godzyk Real Estate Services NH License 033394

One of the most requested things from buyers is a home with a large master bedroom. However some mandate it have a bathroom, some mandate it has a walk in closet and still others demand both.

What do you think is a must for a home?

THE BOTTOM LINE Is that Home Buyers often provide a list of what they need and what they want. I like to show them a home with each so they can see. Listening to your buyer is a must. If the home must have both, then i find homes listed for sale with both.

THE SECRET OF SUCCESS: The key to having a successful Home Sale or Purchase can increase simply by choosing a better agent.  One that explains each step of the buying or selling process and stands by you throughout each. The secret is, that All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. I leave you with now infamous philosophy, which is simple, to provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process.

I leave you with now infamous philosophy, which is simple, to provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process.

THE TOP TIPS TO FIND A "GREAT" REAL ESTATE AGENT

 1. LEARN THIS ONE FACT: One should know that All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest Agent or Company. It is important to Hire the BEST Agent. In NH that could be me.

2. CHOOSE THE RIGHT AGENT: As a Buyer OR Seller in this market you need every advantage you can to get your home sold. It starts with choosing the right agent. a. Ask for a Full time agent whose sole job is to sell homes. b. Ask for a Full service agent who will guide you through each step of the selling process. Discount brokers often equal discount services. c. Ask for a Local agent who knows your neighborhood and is readily available when you need them is a must. Out of town agents can leave you high and dry in your time of need. d. Ask for a well experienced Listing Agent can give you the advantages you need when selling your home. Not all agents are created equal. Choose only the best.

It does not take magic to turn your "For Sale" sign into a "Sold" sign. it takes a full time Local Agent who specializes in Listing homes like yours.

Good morning, Scott Godzyk my vote is for both....and I want my closet to be a small room.... and the bathroom a larger room than the closet....

A master bedroom without a bathroom is just another bedroom. A large closet is a must and for some only works as a walk-in! Enjoy your day!

Master suite ....walk in closet and bath required....the larger the closet as my Dad cautioned David when we built...the greater the reality it will fill up...and it has !

You know Scott Godzyk This is a false premise. A nice house these days has both and that is what everyone is looking for.

As for me, I would like more than the two feet that my wife allows for my stuff while she has the rest of the walk-in PLUS all of the wardrobe. OMG. Why are women like this?

Scott Godzyk I do not see many buyers willing to compromise on either of these choices for a master bedroom. I would say the master closet should not be within the master bath, however, due to the accumulation of damp air and the potential for mold in dead spaces.

I think the closet is more useful Scott. How many people use a bath on a daily basis?

Hi Scott - Our housing stock is primarily a newer one, so most homes built in the 80's on have both, but where they don't, the closet usually comes out higher on the list - few people use bathtubs anymore except for bathing kids or chilling out with bubbles and a glass of wine.
