Yesterday's tornado tore through Howard County, MD ... and my listing

Real Estate Agent with Thompson Company, REALTORS® MD594797

The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado tore through Western Howard County, Maryland yesterday - June 21st, 2016. In not quite 20 minutes it tore one path of destruction through the area including my listing on Old Annapolis Rd in Woodbine.

tornado alertAs I was sheltering in place with my kids, my client sent me the frightening text messages. Due to power outages it took us awhile to touch base but what he ended up telling me wasn't pretty.

Good news first, though, they didn't get hurt!

1559 Old Annapolis Road, a private oasis and spectacular piece of property bordering county preservation land, suffered damages that will take some time to sort out, clean up and repair.

For that reason, we had to take the listing off the market today. But it will be back at some point in the future.. even prettier and more spectacular than before!

If you have had your eye on this listing and would like to know right away when it becomes available again, just send me your email or phone number and I'll be sure to let you know.

Hi Andrea Bedard ,  The weather is active everywhere this week.  We are expecting storms overnight and possible tornadoes here in Indiana. I don't like overnight storms in the dark, where you can't see anything.

Oh gosh, what a mess.  This is where good insurance really counts.  And, I'm sure that this house will look better when it's all fixed up.  Glad they are okay.

Had a pending listing torn up by a tornado a few years ago.  It was a mess.  Buyers walked while the repairs were being completed, but it did sell later.

Andrea Bedard - OMG! This is something I can never imagine!

Good news is really good - they are all safe.

And once the damages are taken care of, this home will be even better than before.

The important thing is that no one was hurt. I'm guessing after the repairs are made the home will be in better condition than it was before the storm.

I live in both tornado AND hurricane country. Give me a hurricane every day of the week. At least with those you have 7-10 days notice.

Oh, my goodness, thank heavens no one was injured;  the house can be repaired and like you said, better than ever, but what a mess in the meantime.  Hope everything goes smoothly for the seller.
