What does commitment mean to you?

Our world is vast, the world is huge, and it's a small world after all.

I have heard these statements many times over my life.

What does the world mean to you?

Is your world too busy, too stressed or just right?

Based on your reflections, what might be a tell tail sign of how you see your world, is your commitments with your world.

Your world is based upon your experiences within it. You actually choose those experiences based on the thoughts you have and the actions you take.

The control lever to what happens in your world can be directly connected to your commitments.

Marriage, for example, is a commitment. Two people commit to spend their lives together. The "til death do us part" commitment, however, is many times forgotten when the spark is said to have warn off. There are many marriages that work wonderfully for their duration and, I would assume, are held together with a solid commitment to it's happiness.

Business is another area where commitments are not only necessary, they are the litmus test to the overall success of the business. A lack of commitment to the happiness of ones customer base leads to a failure in the relationships with the customers and, no customers, no business. Many times I have heard of business owners who are totally committed to the success of their business and also the happiness of the families who serve the business. Those businesses are the ones to watch!

Take a time and reflect in your life and see what you are truly committed to. It's an interesting exercise!

I have to say my word is my word when it comes to business. I do not break the bond. Hard to find people who are not serious.

Steve- in this quick throw away world we live in, we need more people who know what they're committed to and honor it.

Good Morning Steve - I would say that committment is the basis for success.  Everyone has ups and down but those who succeed have committment.

Steve, such a great word: commitment. Hard to do sometimes, but worth it, I believe. Today, my life is balanced. If I stay in the present, and don't sweat the things that I can't control, then life is simpler and easier to live.

Thanks to Kathy for spotlighting your piece!

Thanks for the thoughtful post, Steve. I can see why Kathy thought it worthy of a feature in her weekly post. There unfortunately are some people who seem to have an issue with commitment, personally as well as in business, whereas in others there is simply no question they are committed!

Hope you are enjoying your day!

Jeff
