BREAKFAST
NOVA CAFE
For a unique breakfast with a local focus, head to Nova. From Nutella pancakes to the Tom Avo benedict everything on their menu is made with fresh, local ingredients and delicious. The only problem is if you head there on a weekend you will have to wait for a table. Trust us, it is worth the wait. Grab a coffee after you put in your name and sit outside to enjoy some fresh air and downtown people watching while you wait. While they are known for breakfast, you can also get lunch here.
CATEYE CAFE
Just off of Main Street is another Bozeman favorite for breakfast, Cateye Cafe. The space is fun, full of kitchy decor, the food is great (the catastrophe is awesome and the kiddos will love the kitty-cakes!) and you can't go wrong starting your day with one of their many mimosa flavors. Try them out for lunch also, they have great burgers using Montana beef!
FEED CAFE
You know this place is good because it's from the creators of Nova! The food is equally as amazing, but the feel is different. Still on Main Street, but away from downtown located in the big red barn. At Feed the atmosphere is farm-chic. You order at the counter, find a space at one of the community tables or a stool at the window and they bring the food out to you. When you order you won't be able to resist one of the pastries in the front case. Just go for it and enjoy it while you wait for the rest of your breakfast to come. They also serve lunch!
THE WESTERN CAFE
Old school Bozeman. Simple, local, home cooking. Speaks for itself.
LUNCH
PICKLE BARREL
This Bozeman staple has been around for 30 years. The place is unassuming, the sandwiches are filling and the pickle barrel is always full ready for you to help yourself. This is an order at the counter and take your sandwich to go type place, unless you can snag one of the few outdoor tables. Don't forget the ice cream shop next door...one of the best places in Bozeman for a scoop or two!
LA PARILLA
Another one that has been around for awhile! They opened their doors in 1996 and have been serving up quality, fresh, huge burritos since. It's choose your own style...burrito, taco or bowl, pick your meat, veggies and topping, they squeeze it all in, roll it up so the fixings don't fall out and you leave full and happy.
5 ON BLACK
This is a newer one to Bozeman and is conveniently located right downtown! They focus on fresh food fast, making it perfect for a lunch break. Get a taste of Brazil and build your own bowl filled with rice, meat or veggies, top it with mango BBQ or spicy coconut sauce. Add on some collard greens or black beans. This is a great place for an affordable, quick and yummy lunch.
HABANERO BLISS
This is where you go for authentic Mexican food. Everything is made from scratch. Located on Kagy in the complex that is home to Sola Cafe and Blacksmith...go here for your next Mexican fix.
DINNER
FEAST BISTRO
Located in the new restaurant hot spot on the south side off of Kagy is Feast. They opened their doors just last year and they are a wonderful dining experience. They serve the best in sustainable seafood and have a great raw bar with fantastic oysters. The meat and produce is locally sourced and the menu features exceptional cuisine. From Vietnamese chicken wings to Ethiopian spiced gold lentils, your taste buds will be in for a treat!
SEVEN SUSHI
Seven has been around for awhile, but recently opened up in a new location in the historic Cannery District and it is fantastic. There is tons of seating and a new outdoor patio that just opened for summer. It's not just sushi, they also have a variety of Japanese fusion appetizers and entrees. Start with the sweet potato fries with wasabi fry sauce, so good!
