Bryan July 4th Celebration
The Brazos Heritage Society is hosting this year's Bryan July 4th celebration at Heritage Park. They have a jam-packed schedule set up for the morning, too. The Sojourners will start things off with the official flag raising ceremony. Kids are welcome to join in on the children's parade. All they have to do to be a part of it is to decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, pets, themselves or even their little brother or sister in their patriotic finery. If pets are involved, please make sure they are leashed at all times.
What Bryan July 4th celebration would be complete without food? The Heritage Society is offering old fashioned refreshments at old fashioned prices...$0.50 each to be precise. Don't forget to visit the exhibitor booths, too.
After the Bryan July 4th celebration is over, take the family to Kurten. The Brazos County Fire Department is hosting their annual 4th of July BBQ and fireworks show fundraiser. Admission is free there as well. However, there is a charge for the burger and brisket plates they have on sale. Spend $10 a ticket for the gun raffle. Several items will be up for bid at the silent auction. Proceeds from the event will help the volunteer fire department buy a wildfire truck.
Heritage Park is located at East 30th and Hutchins. The weather man is predicting a high of 98F on Monday, with slight winds and a 59% humidity. Dress appropriately. Keep cool. Have fun. That's all you'll need for this Bryan July 4th celebration.
