Scanner Pro App for Agents on the Go

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Franklin Homes Realty LLC

I am a busy real estate agent. As you would guess, much of my business is conducted outside of my office. I have my iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro with me at all times. It's not unusual for me to write offers in Panera or Starbucks. I did that twice this week.

Anything that makes my job easier is in my real estate tool chest. A couple of years ago, I added Scanner Pro App to my real estate arsenal. This app cost me $3.99 in the App Store. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. It uses the camera in my iPhone to snap a photo. That photo is saved as a PDF document. I can then share that document right from the app.

This morning, I was at a home inspection. The HVAC unit wasn't working in this house so we had an HVAC contractor come out. He gave us a quote for repairs. I wanted a very clean copy. I just pulled out my phone and used my Scanner Pro App. In seconds, I had a copy and sent one to my client.

Last week, I was working with an agent who wasn't very tech-savvy. She didn't use e-signatures and didn't have a scanner in her home office. She was driving 30 minutes to her client's house for signatures, then 30 minutes to her office to scan and send documents to me.

I suggested she get this app. She had just met with her client to get signatures on documents. I was very close to her location and agreed to just swing by and use my Scanner Pro App so she could see how it worked. She declined saying she'd feel more comfortable sending it from her office. I was thinking I'd have the documents 30 minutes later. Unfortunately, they didn't arrive until 5 hours later, 9:45 that night.

Having this app would have saved the agent a whole lot of time and trouble. I rarely use my office scanner anymore. And $3.99 sure beats the cost of a portable scanner. This app has been a lifesaver on more than one occasion.

If you're like me, get the Scanner Pro App. It's made for agents on the go.

These apps are terrific and save a tremendous amount of time. That said, I prefer them for shorter documents- it feels painful for me to try to snap pictures of more than 5 pages.

Adam - My need is usually 5 pages or less.

Doug - I don't use dotloop. Our MLS pays for Authentisign and that works well for me because our MLS contracts automatically load from TransactionDesk to Authentisign.

Bruce - I think you'll like this one.

Adam Feinberg mentioned that it's hard to photograph a lot of pages.  That made me think if you photograph, say, 10 pages, does it make one PDF?

Yes, you can make it 1 pdf (or at least Tiny Scanner can, I am sure others can as well).

I am a retired computer design engineer and like the speed and convenience that technology can provide.  But I am also security aware and would carefully read the app terms of service and use passwords, encryption and a secure internet connection, not public Wi-Fi, to keep confidential documents secure.

Some apps are fine for personal use, but not secure for business use.
