Wow it is hard to believe that we are almost in the month of July! You know what that means. Independance Day! The 4th is a special time in our collective history and no one does it better than Central Texas. With Fort Hood right in the middle of the family fun and fireworks.
This year July 4th will be on a Monday. What does that mean? I say a whole weekend to celebrate!
So let's start it off in Texas style and A RODEO! From July 1-4 the PRCA Rodeo will be at the Bell Country Expo Center. Starting at 7 PM each evening. More Rodeo Info
**A bit of bad news Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA), Stillhouse areas (Dana Peak etc) and Mother Neff are still closed due to the earlier flooding.**
That being said there are more than enough activites to keep you busy.
Fort Hood has an awesome event calendar!
8 AM starts the annual fun run. After eating all weekend long we might need it! MORE ABOUT FUN RUN
Starting at 4 Pm until the great Fireworks show at 9:30 PM there are a number of activities including bands! FT HOOD SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Belton is our next fun stop! In my personal opinion the BEST 4th of July parade in the area is in Belton TX! Starting at 10 AM and ending at an estimated Noon time frame. A word to the wise I am not the only one who loves this parade so I would suggest getting there between 8:30 and 9 if you can. This years theme is traveling the USA. BELTON PARADE INFO Belton also offers a lot of fun after the parade at Festival on Nolan Creek starting at 11 until 4pm.
There is so much more to do!
Get up Get out and Be Safe!
I hope to see you around the area!
