Aelita Andre was born to Michael and Nikka. Anyway both of her parents are artists. As she was growing up she watched her parents paint and she started herself at 9 months old. Her parents believing Aelita was a child prodigy showed some of her works to a Melbourne-based art curator when she was 22 months old. The curator was so impressed with her work he agreed to include it in a group exhibition in the Brunswick Street Gallery before he knew of her age. Once he found out being true to his word he showed Aelita’s work.
Her first solo exhibition was made just as she turned four years old. her paintings have sold from between $4,400.00 to as high as $10,000.00 a pop. Art critics have classified her works as abstract expressionism. She paints with acrylics and often adds three-dimensional objects to they such as bark, twigs and heathers. She is now nine years old. I don’t have a picture of this little wonder but I’m anxious to see what she comes up with.
