Saving the Bees with Nature As Neighbors

Nature As Neighbors - We Love Bees

We recently sent our clients a "Bee Magnet" and a quick reminder to take steps to help save these important pollinators. We were so happy to see many respond and share the ways in which they're helping. This is one of our favorite photos from a Multi-Gen family we worked with last year. We found them a  5-acre estate just outside of Washougal and they have since planted part of the acreage in wildflowers. We think the results are charming. Thanks Genia, Russell, Gary, and Karla - you are all greatly appreciated!

I buy as much local honey as possible so that our local farmers can keep their farms and bees going strong. There are actually a handful of local honey producers right around me and I can get their honey at our Farmer's Market in downtown Gilbert every Saturday morning.

Debb,

We love our bees and happily plant to make sure they keep our lemon trees in fruit.  Saturday I was trimming our lavender which had expanded into the deck, and the bees started to get mad at me, even though I was not trimming the flowers all that much...so I backed off, even though the bushes look weird...LOL A

Good morning, Debb and Bernie -- while I understand the importance of bees, I personally would like to see a few more butterflies in my garden area.  I love the magnets and how it well it works with your brand.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - We have different types of bees hitting all our flowers.  I like to attract humming birds and bees are attracted as well.  Never had any problems.  Love the little critters!

I love the idea. Did you include a flyer or post card with it on how they can help, with recommendations on plantings, pesticide alternatives, etc? I know that would resonnate with me and I imagine it would with other consumers as well.

Yes, we did include a post card Melissa Marro . And, many of our clients wrote us, or called us to let us know how they are helping. We will include their ideas in another mailing. ;)  Creating a Buzz.
