Saving the Bees with Nature As Neighbors

I buy as much local honey as possible so that our local farmers can keep their farms and bees going strong. There are actually a handful of local honey producers right around me and I can get their honey at our Farmer's Market in downtown Gilbert every Saturday morning.

We love our bees and happily plant to make sure they keep our lemon trees in fruit.  Saturday I was trimming our lavender which had expanded into the deck, and the bees started to get mad at me, even though I was not trimming the flowers all that much...so I backed off, even though the bushes look weird...LOL A

Good morning, Debb and Bernie -- while I understand the importance of bees, I personally would like to see a few more butterflies in my garden area.  I love the magnets and how it well it works with your brand.  

I am in compete agreement with you Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD where would we be with out honey and bees, part of Mother Nature.

Hi, Those bee magnets are a cute idea.   Thanks for sharing the photo of your buyers lovely wild flower "garden" that they planted.  It seems like it would be low maintenance and bee friendly.      

Hi Debb & Bernie - I always feel good looking at our Russian sage and lavender - they'e always crowded with bees feasting on that stuff. Have a great weekend!

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - We have different types of bees hitting all our flowers.  I like to attract humming birds and bees are attracted as well.  Never had any problems.  Love the little critters!

Debb & Bernie, I see a few bees in our back yard and one or two butterflies... wish there were fewer wasps...

I love the idea. Did you include a flyer or post card with it on how they can help, with recommendations on plantings, pesticide alternatives, etc? I know that would resonnate with me and I imagine it would with other consumers as well.
