How did homes sell in NW Austin’s premier Canyon Creek in Second Quarter 2016?

Check out how Canyon Creek area single family homes sold in the second quarter of 2016 compared to 2015. The numbers are in and homes that sold did so with positive appreciation. While 2015 was a good year it appears 2016 is proving to be even better! Austin continues in its expansion mode by luring more residents in need of housing due to Austin’s emphasis on jobs, jobs, jobs.
The number of home sales in the Second Quarter rose 8% compared to Second Quarter of 2015. The average sold price is down 2.5%, however the price/square foot price increased by 6%. Why? Buyers purchased 8% smaller homes. They also took longer to make their offers firm causing a rise of 8% days on market.
As of June 30, 2016 there are 12 active homes on the market in Canyon Creek which translates into less than two month’s inventory. There are 8 pending homes on the market. It’s a seller’s market in Canyon Creek as we continue to see significant low levels of inventory.
