North Suffolk continues to be one of the hottest growth areas of Virginia. Harbour View has grown to be a true, mixed use community with beautiful custom built homes in the Riverfront, multiple condominium neighborhoods, several luxury apartments complexes, award winning restaurants and amazing retail stores, including a state of the art movie theater, spas and several fitness centers.
The area is now home to a multitude of large national chains including Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Hallmark, Gamestop, Petsmart, TJ Maxx and Bed Bath and Beyond at Harbour View East; a Super Walmart anchored shopping center.
Harbour View Marketplace is a Harris Teeter anchored shopping center which has Anytime Fitness, Supercuts, Message Envy, and Regal Cinemas amongst its many tenants. Regal Harbour View Grande Stadium 16, is a 16-screen theater that was remodeled in 2015 to feature king sized leather recliners with reserve in advance seat selections. This is only one of two Regal Cinemas in Hampton Roads to have these special features, and has seen amazing success. After watching a movie there you will be spoiled forever.
The area’s newest shopping center, Hampton Roads Crossing, has several sought after tenants celebrating grand openings. DSW, ULTA, Michaels, Ross, Five Below, and Petco have joined the new Super Kroger as junior anchors.
North Suffolk also has several boutique and specialty stores. For years the area has been home to the original A. Dodson’s location, an apparel, home décor and gift store. New to the area this past fall, Fireflies on Bennett’s Creek has unique gifts for the home and garden featuring items by local vendors with a large emphasis on American made products. Also this past fall, Savor the Olive, an artisan olive oil and vinegar shop, opened its third Hampton Roads location on Harbour View Boulevard. Clothes Mentor, a women’s clothing consignment store, opened in May 2016. Most recently, Hi Ho Silver has opened a Suffolk location on Bridge Road next to A. Dodsons. This is Hi Ho Silver’s fourth location in Hampton Roads and is a great addition to the area.
It has been very exciting to watch this area grow and take shape, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for North Suffolk and Harbour View. We have heard from several commercial brokers that they are working hard to bring many more retailers and restaurants to our area.
