NEW HOME SEARCH AFTER WIDOWED

By
Real Estate Agent with Amenity Properties, Inc. 303602

I am getting experience today working with a seller that has lost her husband and needs to sell their home of seventeen years to downsize and move to another state to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

I see the pain in her eyes as she prepares to leave their home, also. She has a lot to deal with from selling household items to searching for a new home that she will feel safe and comfortable in alone.

As an agent, I don't just handle the real estate transaction, I listen and comfort when needed. I haven't had to deal with such a move, but after she does find the new home, she has to get familiar with new doctors, dentist, government offices, grocery stores, neighbors, finding her way around in a new town and more.

I sympathize with her knowing she is very emotional at this time, but needing to remain strong and confident that all will be okay.

Each real estate client has a story to tell...some happy, some heartbreaking.

Betty  - assisting clients when they're going through challenging times is what many of us do so well. It's not easy at times but as you said, staying strong and keeping them focused on the idea that it will all work out is the best way to go. She's a lucky lady to have such a caring agent on her side. All the best for her and you!

Luckily she has a daughter & grandchildren. It's always hard to loose a spouse and sell your home but at least she has a new adventure ahead of her filled with loved ones.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I do always listen to my clients dreams and stories, but this one has been the most heartbreaking and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to offer my kindness and comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with her as she transitions!

Blessings,

Betty

Making a move such as that can be sad, as she is leaving a place with a lifetime of memories. Other moves are happy and exciting. Every sale is different.

Best wishes with your transaction. She's lucky she has you to help her.
