Seattle rockets glare and boom on the July 4th.

I headed up to the Eastlake neighborhood in Seattle the evening of July 4th to watch the fireworks on Lake Union. We have an escrow branch there with a fabulous view of the Seattle Skyline (from the north), the Space Needle, and look west over Lake Union at Queen Anne Hill, the Aurora Bridge, and on clear days we enjoy views of the magnificent Olympic Mountains on the peninsula.

Seattle Skyline from Eastlake

The sky was overcast, but fortunately the cloud cover was high. For me, the weather was perfect, just a gentle breeze from the west and a comfortable cool. This is just a share, no big production. I shot it with my iPhone 6 Plus and was surprised how well it did at night with bright rockets a glare. Night is usually a good recipe for fuzzy. Also, no additional apps or fancy editing. I just put a couple of clips together then added the bookends.

It was a great fireworks show and fun to see Queen Anne Hill light up and the reflections on the lake. I also loved the acoustics and speaking of that, it’s best (but not at all necessary) with headphones. ~ just sayin’... The music you hear was blasting from Gasworks Park just out of view to the right. The Eastlake neighborhood was packed to the max and people were in droves everywhere and as witness, I believe a good time was had by all.

If you didn’t see any rocket’s red glare, or bombs bursting in air, this is some fun footage.

Well that was lovely.  Mind you I watched with the sound muted because the noise upsets my dogs.  So a video I could mute was AWESOME.

Thanks Dorie Dillard ... I thought it was pretty fun footage of a gorgeous event. I was really pleased with the fireworks and the location this year. The audio is so fun. I love listening to the echo over the lake between hills.

Hi Endre Barath, Jr. ... Me too these days. I'm happy to watch the show and it scares me, especially in a condo complex, when people are firing them off all around you! This year, in Renton, fireworks were outlawed, which I am glad they were. Yet, still, there were a few injuries and a couple of house fires.
