Music, family fun and a gorgeous sun set over San Francisco Bay will be featured at the annual “Concerts at the Cove” on July 8, 5:30 to 7:30. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic dinner or enjoy freshly prepared street tacos from Calafia Taqueria and a variety of sausages from Café Jolie. Crab Cove is at 1252 McKay Avenue in Alameda.

Alameda Walks group will join the EBRD Guided Shoreline Walk on Saturday, July 9 at 9:00 am at Crab Cove Visitor Center, 1252 McKay Avenue.  This walk will explore Crab Cove to Crown Beach while we walk along the Bay Trail from Crab Cove to Grand Avenue and back with a stop at the pond and along the b4eeach to view wildlife and discuss the history of our shoreline.  Its a new walk and a way to find out more about Crab Cove.  


The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 12  mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine.  All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices.  So good!  Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers.  The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.

 

 

Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks will be at South Shore on Saturday, July 9, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco.

The Meyer’s House and Garden will be open on Saturday, July 9 at 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The gorgeous colonial revival was built in 1897 for the prominent Alameda architect, Henry H. Meyers.  Mr. Meyers designed many building and churches, schools and the Posey Tube Portal of the Webster Tube.  The Meyer’s House and Garden is located at 2021 Alameda Avenue in Alameda. This house is a must see for Alamedans to discover what living in Alameda in the early 20th Century was like.  Free for members and for non-members there is $5.00 fee.

Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun Hour features “Things That Fly.”  Explore the world of birds and then find out what’s new at the cove on Saturday, July 9, at 2:00 pm.  Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.

Rhythmix hosts “Elect to Laugh 2016” on Saturday. July 9 at 8:00 pm.  Will Durst will be featured.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door at Rhythmix Cultural Works, 2513 Blanding Avenue in Alameda.  Please call 510-865-5060 for more information. www.rhythmix.org
