Zillow listed my property as a manufactured home

Last week I listed 9630 Dundalk Street for sale. A few days later the seller called to let me know that I had made a typo because online it was being advertised as a Manufactured Home. Manufactured Homes are also known as trailers or mobile homes. 

9630 Dundalk doesn't have wheels and I didn't list it as a trailer, but Zillow did. 

They also have their estimated value (Zestimate) at $140,783.00...about 20k LESS than the actual value of the property.

Interestingly they also promote the property as having "Wave Broadband Available." I'm not sure what exactly that means. They also left off the annual HOA dues. This dollar amount is, however, displayed on our MLS. 


There were numerous other issues, but the point is simple. Do not rely on Zillow for a homes value if you're shopping in Texas. Texas is a non-disclosure state and Zillow does not have accurate data available to them to help buyers and sellers the way a Realtor or Appraiser can. Listings automatically syndicate (feed out) to these websites, often hundreds of them. It shouldn't and cannot be practical for me to correct and update every bogus entry made by a 3rd party website. 

Buyers and Sellers are better off relying on their area MLS than they are Zillow.

Well this does not surprise me, non-disclosure state or not. My most recent listing on Z pulled up the photos and the remarks from the MLS from the listing when it sold a year ago. I know because I was the buyer agent, adn the photo and remarks I added were ignored.

Don't get me started on the erroneous zestimates. Anyone making decisions based on this is likely to lose...money or the offer.

Leave it to Zillow to make that kind of mistake!  That is why homeowners need REALTORS!
