513 Trail Lake Place in Midlothian is under contract. It's new construction, sitting on the top of a hill, designed and built by a custom builder. The sod is coming up nicely and the closing can't come soon enough! My buyers are so excited and it has been an honor to work with my clients, the Listing Agent, and Builder/Seller.
Blue skies over Texas; warm and friendly clouds watching over the new home protectively while pending; and the light is on, shining brightly, waiting for its first occupants to arrive! This home was built with pride and joy.
Midlothian is located in Ellis County, just about 25 miles southwest of Dallas. the name Midlothian was established in 1863 and incorporated in 1888. An interesting fact about the city as described in Wikipedia is as follows:
"According to local legend, the area was named Midlothian when the Chicago, Texas, and Mexican Central railroads, which would eventually connect Dallas and Cleburne, arrived in the area and a homesick Scottish train engineer stated that the local countryside reminded him of his homeland in Scotland, and the location served as the midpoint between Dallas and Cleburne, and between Ennis and Fort Worth. With the coming of the railroad, Midlothian grew and was incorporated in April 1888."
Studying about the history of towns and cities is a hobby of mine. In honor of the homesick Scottish train engineer who may have passed or stood on this very land, I'd like to welcome my new home buyers to Texas with the following phrase:
"Lang may yer lum reek.
(lum = chimney, reek = smoke)
Translation: I wish you well for the future."
